1997 1997-01 The computer system completely changed form terminal/host system to client/server system. The computer system consists of the Research Computing System, the Network Library System and Network Information System. And a server or a terminal computer was equipped in each research institutes.

1996 Completed connection of institutes (about 100 locations) and started operation of MAFFIN (MAFFIN.AD.JP).
1995 1995-10 The network was changed from INS-Net64 to Frame Relay and changed with other replacements of constructing the domestic WAN. The WWW Server was connected to the network for offering the scientific activities and outputs of research institute to the world.

1994 Connected to IMnet (Inter-Ministry Research Network) operated by the Science and Technology Agency with the end of TISN operation.

1993 1993-01 An intellectual processing environments with various functions of a supercomputer, section servers. And applications ware provided on the network so that researchers could use freely in cope with their purposes.

1991 1991-02 The network was changed from C&C-VAN to INS-Net64 (64kbps). the domestic WAN(wide area network) was constructed with TCP/IP Protocol.
1979 1979-02 A mainframe computer (ACOS800-II) of exclusive use in the Computer Center for Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Research started the operation as the domestic online network connecting the major research institutes across the country.
  • 1983-05 ACOS850 Model 20 Host computer was upgraded.
  • 1988-10 ACOS930 Model 20 host computer was upgraded. The domestic online network was rearranged and expanded with C&C-VAN.
1966 1966-10 The Computer Center for Agriculture and Forestry Research was inaugurated by making rental use of TOSBAC-300 of a private computer center.
  • 1971-01 The Computer Center for Agriculture and Forestry Research was settled in the Office of the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Research Council Secretariat (Kasumigaseki) whth an introduction of electronic computer (HITAC-8500) for cooperative use to the head office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
